Common Troubleshooting Steps

I can't find my MMS on the network.

Mirage Media Servers are configured to automatically obtain an IP address from your router. Check your router's DHCP client table and look for a device with the description Mirage-1 or MMS-2.

The DHCP Reset utility below can be used if you have set up the MMS for a static IP address and can no longer connect to the configuration web page. This utility changes the LAN settings from a static IP (manual configuration) back to DHCP.

1. Download and save this file: DHCP Reset

2. Place the file in the root directory of a name-brand USB thumb drive.

3. Insert the USB thumb drive into the front panel of the MMS (or rear panel of the MMS-2).

4. Wait 30 seconds while the MMS runs the application,  then remove the thumb drive.

5. You can now determine the new IP address of the MMS by using the remote syncronization application, or by looking at the DHCP clients table in the network router.

Trouble with Internet Radio Services

Losing access to browsing or listening to internet radio services can sometimes be traced back to an issue with your DNS (Domain Name System) server.

Configuring your Mirage Media Server to use a static IP address and using the following IP addresses in the DNS server fields has often solved this problem:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

If you continue to have trouble after making these changes, please enable logging on your server (at the bottom of the Machine Settings tab) and submit them to Support after recreating the problem.

I can't find my local radio station in TuneIn.

The MMS supports playing almost all TuneIn radio stations. The exceptions are:

1. Stations that only support the RealPlayer format: There are fewer and fewer of these stations in the TuneIn directory, as many of them have migrated to Windows Media format (.wma).

2. Stations that are contractually disallowed by the provider for playback on devices: The most popular example of this are the I HEART RADIO stations owned by ClearChannel. This is a contractual issue between ClearChannel and TuneIn. These stations can be manually added to the MMS Local Radio TuneIn lineup by adding the URLs into your MMS configuration utility on the Content Tab. A directory of popular radio stations is provided there.

How do I set up Spotify on my MMS?

In order to log in with a Spotify account created via Facebook, one must create a username and password for devices.
1. Login to Spotify.com (Link for US users)
2. Select Edit Your Profile
3. Select Set Up A Username for Devices

You will be able to use that username and password combo on the MMS.

Spotify Error: User is Banned.

Spotify requires that all accounts used on third-party devices are Premium accounts (the £10/$10/€10 level). If you have an Unlimited account (the £5/$5/€5 level), you will need to upgrade to a Premium-level account in order to login with our devices.
