Autonomic Controls Enjoys Widespread Adoption At CEDIA
Denver, CO – September 17, 2007
Autonomic Controls, the leading provider of integration software for Microsoft Media Center could be found all over the show floor last week. CEDIA presentations in cooperation with AMX, Crestron, Microsoft, and Niveus demonstrates the companies acceptance by the channel as the industry standard for controlling Media Center in a custom install.
Just one year after the launch of their inaugural product, Autonomic Controls technology could be seen just about everywhere on the show floor where one would find Windows Media Center.
In the days and weeks surrounding the show, Autonomic Controls inked new cooperative agreements with Crestron, Niveus, VidaBox, Passive Technologies, and Easy Access Distribution. The company had previously entered into similar agreements with control system manufacturers AMX and HAI.
Media Control Server is a middleware layer that allows sophisticated two way control of Media Center over IP or RS-232. It’s a critical component for custom installers because it allows customers to browse their media on touch panels and provides a means to incorporate media playback into automated whole-house scenes.
Listeners can browse their digital music CD covers while outside on the Patio, for example, and playback their selections on the whole house audio system. Used in a home theater, customers can browse their entire movie collection on a touch panel, flipping though digital DVD covers and then send it to the big screen for viewing.
MCS also provides a way to browse digital photographs, videos, and recorded TV without being tied to the display.
Autonomic Control’s control system modules were presented in their booth #3806, at AMX’s booth #501, and Niveus Media’s booth #294.
Autonomic Controls Mirage, a windows touch panel client, was demonstrated in Microsoft’s Booth #320. Mirage is a popular option for use on UMPC’s and web browsers, either as an alternative or augmentation to traditional touch panel implementation.
